Staff Application
At Northland Bible Camp, all the staff are volunteers with a love for and a desire to serve their Lord, Jesus Christ. The staff are usually 14 years old or older depending on the camp session.
Because of the day in which we are living, Northland Bible Camp takes Child Abuse very seriously and as a result, each staff member must provide a valid police check if over the age of 18 and three reference (two personal and one spiritual) before volunteering at Northland Bible Camp. If you love the Lord and have a desire to serve Him through camp ministry, please follow the processes outlined below. Due to the increased risk and liability associated with working with children, if you are approved to volunteer, you may be contacted by a representative of Northland Bible Camp for a short "over the phone" interview.

Support Staff & Counselors
Counsellors
Counsellors play an important role in ensuring that the Word of God is continued to be shared at Northland Bible Camp. Counsellors are required to stay in the cabins with campers to provide overnight supervision and assistance as needed.
The role of a counsellor includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Spiritual Guide: Lead camper devotionals and encourage spiritual growth through worship and prayer.
Mentor & Caregiver: Provide emotional support, ensure safety and well-being of campers, and build trusting relationships with campers.
Activity Leader: Organize fun, engaging activities, foster teamwork, and maintain enthusiasm while ensuring a safe environment.
Each of these duties contributes to creating a safe, fun, and spiritually enriching experience for the campers. If you’re passionate about making a difference and want to spend your summer serving others, we’d love to have you on our team!
Support Staff
Support staff are vital to the operation of our camp. Support staff are tasked with various jobs around camp and gain valuable volunteer experience. Our support staff will have the chance to work where they are needed based on the particular week and needs at camp. This may include but is not limited to dining hall, cleaning, session operational support and maintenance support. The following is a general overview of the support staff roles.
Dining Hall Staff: Assist with meal setup, serving, and cleanup to keep the dining experience efficient and welcoming, etc.

Step 1: Staff Application
Please complete this application form. Once it is completed you will be contacted after we have had an opportunity to review it. This process can take some time to complete, please be patient and keep an eye on your email over the coming weeks.
Thank you for your interest in serving God through the work at Northland Bible Camp!
Step 2: Reference Forms
To work as staff at Northland Bible Camp you will have to get THREE references.
One ‘Spiritual Evaluation’ by an elder and/or pastor from your local church.
TWO ‘Personal Evaluation’ by a teacher at your school, sports coach, or supervisor, etc.
When you complete the application, emails with reference form links are automatically sent to the email addresses you provide. However, it is your responsibility to ensure your references receive these emails.
If a reference does not receive the email, you have the following options:
Share a link to this page or directly to the online forms below.
Download the PDF forms below, email them to your references, and ask them to complete and return the forms by email to staff@northlandbiblecamp.ca.
Print the PDF form and hand-deliver it to your reference. They can complete it and:
Mail it to: 36 Mascioli Blvd, Timmins, ON, P4P 1H8
OR scan and email it to staff@northlandbiblecamp.ca
If this is your first time applying to work at Northland Bible Camp, please wait for reply before proceeding with steps 3 through 5. Once your application has been reviewed you can continue with the process.
Step 3: Police Check
If you are over 18, you will need a completed Police Background Check. To get this you will need to go to the OPP or your local police service and tell them it is for a volunteer position at a not-for-profit children’s camp. There may be a charge for this. You may take the 'Police Background Check - Letter of Explanation' with you to the police station, but it is not always needed.
Return the Police Background Check by email to staff@northlandbiblecamp.ca. If you need to snail mail it can be sent to 36 Mascioli Blvd Timmins, ON, P4P 1H8.

Step 4: Interview & Confirmation
If you are a new applicant who has not recently or ever worked at our camp and will be working directly with campers (e.g., counselor, activity leader, etc.), a brief interview will be scheduled as part of the application process. This interview can be conducted in a way that best suits your convenience and availability—via phone call, in-person meeting, or video chat.
The interview is an opportunity for us to get to know you better and ensure a good fit within our camp community. It also provides you the chance to ask any questions about the role, our expectations, or the camp environment. We look forward to connecting with you!
If your application is accepted, you will receive instructions about your next steps. These will include important information to prepare you for your role at camp.
For Applicants Under 18
If you are under 18, please proceed directly to Step 5 after your application is accepted. Further instructions specific to junior staff or volunteer roles will be provided.
Step 5: Attend the training session
This session, which we call "Camp Ezra", is designed to train and equip our younger Counsellors and Support Staff. Camp Ezra has a particular focus for those under 18 years old. While the session emphasizes this age group, it is open to all staff members. The session will cover essential practical information for working at camp and includes a meaningful spiritual component aimed at deepening their understanding of the scriptures and encouraging the application of this knowledge in daily life.
Attendance is mandatory for all staff applicants under 18. There is no fee for this session. You can find the full details here.
**Exceptions may be made for certain staff members on a case-by-case basis. Our staffing coordinators are available to discuss individual circumstances and explore alternative arrangements.
We are so grateful for our volunteers' dedication, love, and service to Northland Bible camp.
Your hard work, compassion, and faith have made an incredible impact on the lives of our campers, helping them grow closer to Christ and create lasting memories. Thank you for being a shining example of God’s love in action; the hands and feet of Jesus.
