Director's Message
Since 1957 NBC has been offering children a positive camping experience while sharing the truth of the Bible.
Our message has always been the same as we present the Bible as it is, for mankind as they are. It is a message of God’s grace expressed through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross and extended to humanity through the gospel and embraced by faith by those who see their need to be saved from the penalty of sin.
NBC is located on the shore of beautiful Butler Lake. The lake is shallow with a sandy bottom and a safe swimming area. The camp has been built on rugged land typical of Northern Ontario but built in such a way as to blend in with the natural wooded surroundings. Facilities are cabins that sleep eight plus have a separate room for counselors or for parents at family camp. There are central showers and toilets.
NBC is conscious of food quality and safety and has built a reputation for delicious home cooked meals. Homemade bread is a staple at many meals. Each summer the kitchen is inspected and approved by the local health unit.
The fees are kept low to make the camping experience available to as many children as possible. The fees are designed to cover only the operating expenses. Capital costs and sponsorships are covered by gifts from individuals and local churches. These gifts are receipted for income tax purposes. NBC is a not-for-profit charitable organization functioning under a board of directors.
Safety is a prime concern at NBC. Qualified lifeguards watch the water front and emergency procedures are regularly practiced. The hospital in Matheson is less than 20 minutes away and campers who get sick or are injured are taken to see a doctor. Over the years there have been very few injuries for which we thank God.
NBC will continue to operate under the mandate of providing quality affordable Christian camping, to provide children with a memorable camp experience and let them expand their talents. The primary goal as always will be to function and operate to the glory of God.
We would like to personally thank you again for stopping by and visiting Northland Bible Camp’s website. We trust you will find this site informative and helpful.
